Psychotherapy

Core Process Psychotherapy · In person in Bath · Online
Hi. I am a senior trainee in psychotherapy at the Karuna Institute, Bristol and a trainee member of UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy).
I offer affordable psychotherapy for adults from my peaceful garden practice in Bath, as well as online.
Whatever has brought you here, you are welcome.
You may be experiencing anxiety or low mood, struggling in your relationships, living with the effects of difficult past experiences, or finding yourself at a point of change, loss or uncertainty.
Or perhaps there isn’t one particular problem you can name. You may simply have a sense that something needs attention.
Psychotherapy offers a confidential, non-judgemental space to slow down and explore your experiences with curiosity and care. Together, we can begin to understand the thoughts, feelings and patterns shaping your life and make room for different ways of relating to yourself and to others.

I practise Core Process Psychotherapy, an approach that brings together Western psychotherapeutic understanding with mindfulness and an awareness of our moment-to-moment experience.
Our bodies can communicate things that are difficult to put into words. Alongside talking, I may gently invite you to notice sensations, feelings or responses in the body. Not as something you have to do correctly, but as another way of becoming curious about your experience.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative and person-centred. There is room for difficulty and pain, but also for humour, connection, pleasure and the things that help us feel most alive.

I qualified as a social worker in 1996 and have spent decades working alongside people through many different circumstances and stages of life.
Alongside my professional work, I have long been interested in our relationship with our bodies and in the ways movement, stillness and awareness can help us reconnect with ourselves.
I am a long-term yoga practitioner and experienced yoga teacher. My interest in embodiment, meditation and bodyfulness led me to train in Core Process Psychotherapy.
